Call for Special MOVE Fellowships 2026
To foster collaboration between the members of different European EV Societies and Networks, we are happy to announce the first call of PNEV - MOVE fellowships that will enable Early Career Researchers (the Applicants) (technicians, PhD students and early-stage post-doctoral researchers (<five years after PhD completion, excluding career breaks) to travel to another lab in Europe (the Hosts) to develop both their technical skills and enlarge their own professional networks.
As a prerequisite, the applicant must be a member of Associação PNEV – Portuguese Network on Extracellular Vesicles and the head of the hosting lab has to be a current member of a National EV Society or Network, which participates in the MOVE initiative.
In this PNEV -MOVE fellowships call, we will award Fellowships up to 2000€. Applications can be submitted between 22nd of July and 22nd of September, 2026.
The Fellowship will cover travel and subsistence (but not bench fees), up to €2000, for the applicant to work in a host lab at an academic institution in a different European country for a time period from 2 weeks to 3 months.
Eligible period for the implementation of the plan is 1st January 2027 until 31st July 2027
APPLICATION PROCESS
Discuss with your supervisor whether this fits with your role and share the list of potential host labs. This is not a closed list, so if you plan to move to an European lab that is not listed, please contact us so we can check their elegibility.
2. Contact the Host lab and discuss the potential collaboration - have your CV ready.
3. Download the application form and fill it.
4. Send your application form via email entitled “PNEV-MOVE_Fellowship Application – [surname of the Applicant]” to geral@pnev.org.
Application form (enclosed document) encompasses:
1. General data (name of the project, name & institution of the Applicant and Host, dates of the stay)
2. CV of the Applicant
2a. List of selected publications from the last 5 years of the Applicant
2b. List of selected publications from the last 5 years of the Head of the host laboratory
3. Motivation letter
4. Project outline
5. Experimental work plan
6. Requested budget with justification
(Note: the requested budget may be reviewed, if not properly justified)
Applications will be evaluated by the following Evaluation Committee on the basis of scientific quality and interest for EV field:

The decision of the Evaluation Committee is final, cannot be appealed, and will be published on the PNEV webpage and social media. The title of the funded project(s) will be also published on the webpage, however, the objectives will not be disclosed until the stay has been concluded. The Evaluation Committee will not enter into correspondence with the applicants.
Responsibilities of the Fellow:
Once the MOVE Fellowship has concluded, the Fellow should provide PNEV with:
1. All invoices that substantiate his/her expenses regarding travel and subsistence (but not bench fees) up to the requested budget. If expenses are not justified correctly, the remaining fellowship should be returned.
2. A brief report describing the activities carried out as well as a short video detailing the benefits to his/her scientific development. Both the report and video should be sent to geral@pnev.org. These reports/videos can be published by PNEV on its webpage and social media.
3. PNEV - MOVE Mobility Fellowship should be acknowledged in any publication or abstract that includes the data obtained during the stay.
4. Fellows could be requested to give a short talk at the next MOVE Meeting.
5. Fellows must not publish any results obtained in the laboratory of the Host without Host approval.
